Dr. LaFleur has been a Consulting Geologist, since 1953, specializing in groundwater hydrology and applied surficial geology, mapping and stratigraphic syntheses of glacial deposits, aggregate resources, geotechnical site evaluation, water resources and aquifer mapping.

As Principal Geologist, Dr. LaFleur serves as lead project geologist on groundwater investigations solid and hazardous waste and mining projects. He also serves in the role of project QA/QC officer for SPECTRA's larger, more complex projects. Dr. LaFleur has mapped nearly all New York State aquifers and is an expert on water supply sources, dynamics, yields, draw-down, etc.
