Latham, New York– Spectra Environmental Group, Inc. has announced the hiring of Yaicha Winters, Ph.D. as a Senior Environmental Scientist and Alexander Caven as an Environmental Scientist.
Ms. Winters is from Cambridge, New York. She has over nine years of experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting soil, water, and geologic sampling data. Her experience includes completing Phase I/II site assessments, investigating gas migrations, and responding to contaminant spills/releases. She has her doctorate in geological studies from Binghamton University and is OSHA Hazwoper certified. She was the recipient of numerous academic awards, including Excellence Award for Research (nomination, 2012) and the Dr. Marie Morisawa Memorial Scholarship (2010-2012).
Mr. Caven is from Syracuse, New York. He is a recent graduate of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where he graduated with a degree in Environmental Engineering. He was the President of Engineers without Borders/Engineering for a Sustainable Society while at SUNY ESF, during which time he was the Haiti Project Coordinator. He coordinated two trips to Haiti for student delegates and also created and implemented an algorithm for mapping and tracking reforestation in Haiti.
