The Outlet Road Bridge located in the Town of Ballston, Saratoga County, was a 33 foot bridge with a weathering steel superstructure. The existing steel was continuously damp due to site conditions and kept rusting during its service life.
Spectra provided engineering design services for the rehabilitation of this structure. Work included the installation of a new precast, pre-compressed concrete/steel composite superstructure. The new superstructure girders were hot dip galvanized, which will extend the service life of the bridge, as compared to utilizing weathering steel as a protective coating.
For this project, Spectra provided surveying, design, and construction inspection services.
This project was part of Spectra’s term agreement for bridge/culvert services with Saratoga County.
